Description

Product Overview

This is a custom keyboard kit (switches, keycaps, and Type-C cable not included). Built on the ZMK firmware, it shares the same firmware and codebase as our MX-version Corne, ensuring reliable performance and extensive customization. It supports dual-mode connectivity (Bluetooth/USB) with multiple device pairing, and an optional 2.4G receiver will be available by the end of February.

Design & Variants

  • Display: Equipped with a nice!view ultra-low-power LCD, showing keyboard status, Bluetooth channel, connection record, active layer, battery level, and typing speed.

  • Available Versions:

    • B Version: Display + right-hand joystick

    • C Version: Display only, no joystick

    • D Version: No display, no joystick
Expansion pads (GP10) are reserved for advanced users.

  • RGB Backlight: RGB effects supported, though power-intensive on battery. Recommended for wired USB use.

  • Case: STL model files provided, allowing users to 3D-print their own shells.

Key Features

  1. Flexible Layout – PCB allows removing 6 keys per side, converting it into a Corne 3x5 layout (case under development).

  2. Battery Performance – Powered by a 180 mAh (tested 200 mAh) battery, offering ~166 hours runtime. With auto-sleep, real-world use extends to 20–30 days.

  3. Hot-Swappable Sockets – Supports Kailh Choc V1 / V2 (1353) switches, using Kailh 1350 hotswap sockets for easy replacement.

  4. Controls – Default knob function: volume adjustment. Joystick: arrow keys and mouse pointer control (for emergencies, not a full replacement for a mouse).

  5. Ultra-Thin Design – Only 1 mm thickness under the hotswap socket, plus 0.6 mm recessed anti-slip feet, adding just 0.4 mm overall. Comes with 2 mm feet by default, with optional replacements (1mm/1.5mm/2mm).

  6. Safety-Oriented Build – Avoids exposed sockets to reduce short-circuit risks from liquid spills.

Additional Notes

  • For users who prioritize thinness, the no-knob, no-joystick version is recommended.

  • Preloaded with ZMK Studio for key remapping; advanced users can recompile firmware via GitHub (repo: github.com/a741725193/zmk-corne).

  • Reset button located in the rear circular hole (double-tap to enter BL mode). Thumb-side toggle switches act as battery switches (down = on).

  • Custom Choc V1 keycaps available in black, white, and transparent
